DIRECTOR

Caitlin O’Loan

Caitlin brings a wealth of knowledge and more than two decades of national and international in-house and consultancy experience to COCOM, which she founded to bridge a gap in public relations and publicity for luxury goods and services.

Her career was kick-started as a Client Liaison Officer for HRO Owen Rolls Royce in London, where she worked with Sothebys Auctioneers, Cartier, Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Following her return to Australia, Caitlin joined MYER Queensland and in 1996 was promoted to become the youngest ever State Publicity Manager.

In 1999, Caitlin was appointed as National Marketing Communications Manager for Orient-Express – Australia and New Zealand, which consists of unique, five-star luxury hotels and resorts, and trains and cruises, located in more than 15 countries.  In this role, she was responsible for establishing the Orient-Express brand in Australian consumer and trade markets, and also planned and coordinated travel for Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, and entourage, on board Australia’s Orient-Express.

Orient-Express also became the first client for COCOM in 2003, and was soon joined by other high-end clients, such as David Jones, The Bollinger Polo Tournament (Brisbane), The Rugby World Cup Live Site, Macquarie Trio, Ahura Resorts (Fiji), and Louis Vuitton.

Caitlin is a dynamic PR professional with a great understanding of branding, and always has her passport ready for the next amazing travel experience.

As a result of her PR savvy and professionalism, Caitlin has a vast network of long-standing relationships and is committed to delivering big-picture results for COCOM clients by ensuring the smaller details are covered!

What they say about us

  • Luke Gilpin
Caitlin and the entire COCOM team played an instrumental part in Treasury Brisbane’s re-emergence and profile throughout 2018. As our PR Partners during that year, the business reconnected with many SEQ audiences for the first time in many years and this was in large part thanks to the strategic advice and hands-on support of COCOM. From event ideation to talent leverage; media outcomes to pursuing opportunities; Caitlin and her team delivered outstanding results that often exceeded expectations. The entire team are talented, experienced, well-connected and a pleasure to work with. I’m extremely grateful for their significant contribution to Treasury Brisbane’s rejuvenation.

The Weekend Australian’s Travel & Indulgence section has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Caitlin O’Loan and COCOM over many years. We have worked together on a number of familiarisation trips, features and promotions and have found that Caitlin and her team are always helpful, well-organised and professional. Importantly, Caitlin is intuitive in her dealings with the media and doesn’t waste valuable time pitching unsuitable items or angles. She is one of the very best operators around and we look forward to further collaborations well into the future.

I had the pleasure of working with Caitlin O’Loan as Public Relations Manager on the 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival – Brisbane, hosted by City Hall.  During this appointment, I have had the utmost respect for her as a publicist and her ability to negotiate with senior journalists and editors across many of the fashion titles and major dailies.   Not only did Caitlin and her team at COCOM coordinate and implement a multilayered PR strategy, they worked tirelessly during the festival managing VIPs and the many media requests that this type of event generates. Caitlin played a pivotal role on the management team and combined with her industry contacts managed to assist    across a broad range of areas.   I wish her every success in whatever project she undertakes.

Great to see you in Australia last week and thank you for sending the very detailed de-brief on our two media events. Both events were just perfect and I was very impressed with the high quality of editors and travel writers in attendance! Your contribution to the overall success of this great week is highly appreciated from both myself and Shane, as well as from all the OE delegates who travelled all the way to beautiful Australia!

I have had the pleasure of working with Caitlin O'Loan on a number of her accounts over the past five years, since I became editor (in 2012) of The Australian Financial Review's glossy Sophisticated Traveller magazine. Caitlin was one of the very first PRs in the travel space to contact me. Since then, we have travelled together internationally twice, to Myanmar and Bali, and I have attended many of her functions in Sydney and Brisbane. I have no hesitation in recommending Ms O'Loan without qualification. She is truly one of the most polished, knowledgeable, respected - and charming professionals in the business. She brings an intelligence, her impeccable style and an enviable contact/networking list to every client who signs up with her.
